VanSprint acquires Zweirad Stenger
VanSprint GmbH has acquired the long-established bicycle retailer Zweirad Stenger out of insolvency. Walter Fries Corporate Finance GmbH acted as exclusive M&A advisor to insolvency administrator André Zöller. The transaction was led by Tim Bieder and Armin Ambrosi on behalf of Walter Fries Corporate Finance.
With this acquisition, VanSprint – based in Darmstadt – expands its footprint in Northern Bavaria, particularly at the Hösbach location near Aschaffenburg. The move not only marks a strategic geographic expansion, but also provides access to a well-established regional brand with strong customer loyalty and decades of industry experience.
Zweirad Stenger is known for its quality, customer focus, and technical expertise. A modern building and state-of-the-art workshop provide an ideal foundation for sustainable growth and streamlined operations. Following restructuring due to insolvency, the acquisition lays the groundwork for long-term stability and development.
VanSprint will take over operational management, aiming to strengthen the location, inject fresh momentum, and further expand its presence in the regional bicycle retail market. The solution combines continuity with new energy.
“From day one, our collaboration with Walter Fries Corporate Finance was based on trust and a shared focus on solutions. The team engaged all stakeholders with care and commitment, selecting investors with sound judgment. This enabled us to secure a viable future for the company and its employees.”
“Expanding to Hösbach is a major milestone for us. We’re excited to grow beyond Darmstadt and strengthen our presence in Germany. The process was intense and time-critical, but thanks to the fast and expert support from the team at Walter Fries Corporate Finance, we completed the deal successfully and swiftly.”
About Zweirad Stenger
Founded in 1927, Zweirad Stenger has long been a respected name in regional bicycle retail. Based in Hösbach near Aschaffenburg, the owner-managed business built a reputation for technical know-how and customer service. In recent years, the company invested in a modern logistics and experience center, including a glass-walled workshop, café, and spacious showroom. Despite this positive trajectory, mounting economic pressure in 2024 led to the opening of insolvency proceedings.
